Sister's Against Domestic Violence (SADV) is a Non-Profit Organization that was founded by Atlanta native, Vanessa Kinsey and established in 2007.
SADV is an advocacy group whose sole purpose is to provide Shelter, Clothing, Job Readiness workshops, strengthen Parent and Youth relationships, offer Teen Dating Violence Awareness Seminars and Workshops, Education, Resources, Transitioning Housing, Crisis Line assistance, referrals, and hope to all women regardless of their soci-economic condition.
Every person and family deserves to live in a world free from violence. Safe homes and safe families are the foundation of a safe society. With your support and generosity we can make a difference in the lives of those who have undergone domestic violence.
If you're a victim of abuse or violence at the hands of someone you know or love, or you are recovering from an assault by a stranger, you are not alone.
- A woman is abused by a partner every 15 seconds in the U.S.
- One in every three women, or up to one billion women, have been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in their life time. No one has the right to abuse you!
- Victims of domestic abuse or domestic violence may be men or women, although women are more commonly victimized.
There are different types of domestic abuse, including emotional, physical, sexual, and economic abuse. Many abusers behave in ways that include more than one type of domestic abuse, and the boundaries between some of these behaviors may overlap.
